Last week we had the pleasure of seeing the Nerdist’s weekly talk show Comic Book Club. The episode they shot, which can be viewed above, guest starred Marvel Comics editor Axel Alonso and comedian Al Madrigal.
Here’s a little of what The Final Five’s King Alex thought about the show:
Comic Book Club was very interesting. I pretty much enjoyed it. At first I didn’t know it was going to be a show with some actual guests. I thought it was like a local podcast, with a bunch of people coming together talking about comic books. Drewtos told me about the show. I thought the guests were funny, and really interesting. Will I go to another show? Yes, it’s a good thing to experience.
I guess I’m with him on that. I didn’t know much about Comic Book Club either so it was a good surprise when we got there. Being new to the city I’m still finding new places and things to do. This is a weekly show that I intend on going to a lot more often.
The venue at Pianos in NYC was a decent size and there set up was nice. Before the show starts they hand out pieces of paper and pens to write questions on for the hosts or guest stars to answer. If your question gets chosen you win a bunch of comics. My silly question DID get chosen but I believe it was cut from the video. You can see the comics I won below. Some of them are pretty good picks.
Give the video a watch. Its a good show and if you’re ever in the NYC area on a Tuesday night I would recommend checking it out.
